I am a new golfer and want to know the swing basics before I learn bad habits. I want to find a good instructor that will help me learn the basics.

Answer by Pam MCall your local golf club. They can usually located you an instructor. Sometimes your local schools teach golf and they may know someone that is an instructor and would help you.
